Space Warship is a 912-piece DIY wooden mechanical model that brings dieselpunk engineering into a large-format sci-fi display. Laser-cut basswood parts lock together through glue-free mortise-and-tenon joints, gradually forming an armored hull lined with rotating cannons, layered vents, mechanical wings, and external thrusters. Layered paper components and metallic foil accents add surface depth and industrial texture as the ship takes shape in your hands.
Once the build is complete, the model reveals a series of manually operated details. Rotate the twin turret up to 180 degrees, then choose between two distinct versions, each with its own structure and identity. The Pioneer is an exploration vessel with extendable energy wings, while the Exile has a rugged, fugitive-inspired design with a detachable auxiliary thruster that can be displayed as a separate small craft.
Every movement is driven by hand. Space Warship contains no motor, battery, lighting, sound, or power connection. Recommended for builders aged 14 and above, the approximately 11-hour project offers a satisfying construction challenge before becoming a substantial display piece for sci-fi fans and mechanical model collectors. Whichever version you choose, the finished warship keeps the craft of the build visible in every layer.
